Being synonymous with Jeffreys Bay and much loved by young and old, an iconic business has reached the end of the road – for good.
Potter’s Place in the heart of Jeffreys Bay has closed its doors after almost 16 years of welcoming international, national and local artists to its stage.
After exchanging various owners since last year, this popular and much loved entertainment hub has closed its doors to the public for the last time.
According to Helena van der Merwe, founder of Potter’s Place and the current owner of the building, she has reached the point where she is no longer up to the challenge of carrying on with Potter’s Place.
“I am no longer going to lease out the building, it is just too emotional,” says Van der Merwe. “The building is in the market. Although I feel that Potter’s Place is still a viable business, it is up to the new owners what they want to do with the premises.”
