Christopher Panayiotou’s bail application has been postponed in the Port Elizabeth magistrate’s court.
28-year old Panayiotou who is accused of orchestrating his wife’s murder, was arrested along with two other accused Sizwezakhe Vumazonke and Luthando Siyoni, who is expected to turn state’s witness.
At Thursday’s court proceedings, an additional charge of defeating the ends of justice was added to the charges against Panayiotou.
Christopher’s lawyer, Alwyn Griebenow brought a formal bail application on behalf of his client .
“After we closed our case with regards to the bail application, the state indicated that they were not ready to proceed and applied for a postponement in the matter.
They still need to draft applications in opposition to our bail application as a result of an agreement between ourselves and them and certain undertaking given by the state.”
Christopher has already been charged with conspiracy to commit murder, kidnapping, robbery with aggravating circumstances and murder.
