After months of planning, a cocktail party was held in celebration of the new Hospice Charity Shoppe that opened in Humansdorp.
St Francis Hospice was supported by various businesses in the community. In fact all the décor, fittings, paint, display units and even the security system was provided free of charge!
“It is really heartening to see the commitment to Hospice from so many of the businesses in the area,” said Ingrid Williams from St Francis Hospice.
“This is no ordinary charity shop! Great care has been taking in the layout and design of the shop and although the goods sold are second hand (or previous loved) only items in good order will be sold. Bargain hunters will be delighted at the treasures that can be found there,” added Williams.
St Francis Hospice is extremely grateful to the businesses who so generously gave of their products, time and service.
The address of the new shop is 20 Du Plessis Street (next to the Post Office) and the trading hours are:
Open 9-5 daily and 9 – 12 Saturdays.
St Francis Hospice is dedicated to improving the quality of life of patients with life threatening illnesses.
Through love, care and professional medical support they provide a program of palliative care which encompasses the holistic care of patients whose disease is no longer responsive to curative treatment.
Support also extends to the household members of those afflicted.
Providing a service of care and compassion, St Francis Hospice is available for the communities of the Nelson Mandela Metropole and Kouga areas.
No charge is directly levied for the care we offer, but those who can afford it, are encouraged to make a contribution towards the costs.
