One U16 South African surfer will win a coveted slot into the JBU Supertrial after the completion of the Future Legends Coaching Series – which consists of three events and ends on 19th March.
The winner of the U16 division in this series will be awarded a slot into the JBU Supertrial presented by RVCA in JBay.
The JBU Supertrial is a prestigious invite-only trials event for the annual JBay Open World Surf League contest that takes place at Supertubes in Jeffreys Bay.
The winner of the JBU Supertrial gets a slot into the main event, and an opportunity to surf against the worlds best. It is feasible that the winner of the Future Legends Coaching Series could get into the main event of the JBay Open.
“We’re stoked to offer the one slot to the Future Legends Coaching Series winner,” said JBU Supertrial contest director Koffie Jacobs. “Our junior surfers need experience, and surfing against hungry and more experienced surfers at Supers in a bid for that slot into the main event will provide just that experience.
I also think it’s a very positive thing to be working with the South African Surfing Legends on this initiative.”
The JBay Open forms part of the annual JBay Winterfest, which takes place between 6-17 July in Jeffreys Bay.
It is a multi sport festival that offers mountain biking, trail running, fishing competitions, open water swims in the icy waters of Marina Martinique as well as a junior surf contest, a Funduro and the Oakley X-Over Challenge.
