Jeffreys bay was plunged into darkness last night due to a fault on the main power line near the Melkbos sub station.
“The line tripped at around 6 pm last night and the Kouga Municipality’s Electrical division immediately responded to the problem”, said DA Councillor Brenton Williams.
“When the line trips, the root cause must first be established before the power can be restored”, added Williams.
According to Eddie Oostuizen from the Kouga Municipality, the fault was found by the Municipality at around 7.30 pm and repair work began immediately.
It took about 4 hours to repair the problem and the town had full power just after midnight last night.
This is the kind of service we expect from our Municipality. Well done to all who were involved!
