On 4 June 4 the EP Kings will take on a Contipartners Premier XV, a team consisting of top flight South Africans playing their rugby abroad.
The game will be the Kings’ final warm-up match before their participation in the 2011 Nations Cup in Romania, to be held June 10-19 in Bucharest.
The Contipartners Premier XV consists of numerous overseas-based players, including many from the Eastern Cape Region. These include: Sam Gerber, Brent Russell, Pedrie Wannenburg, Gcobani Bobo, Marco Wentzel and Heini Adams as well as local Sevens star Cecil Afrika.
The team will be coached by former World Cup winner Brendan Venter, who just completed a stint as Director of Rugby at Saracens, England and he will be assisted by Springbok Sevens coach Paul Treu.
On the announcement of the Contipartners team, Kings Head Coach Alan Solomons said, “This gives the team an opportunity to have valuable match practice prior to the Nations Cup. The opposition is a quality outfit that is sure to provide stiff opposition. No doubt it will be a fantastic match that will be terrific for the rugby loving people of the Eastern Cape.”

These players participation is subject to final procedures and availability due to possible play-off matches in Europe.
