Jeffreys Bay is not the only town in Kouga where crime is having an impact on the community.
Boskloof in Humansdorp is also experiencing housebreakings and thefts from motor vehicles.
However, a would be robber got more than he bargained for when he jumped a fence at a Boskloof home and came up against Balala, a big Rottweiler, who is a peace loving dog – to family and friends!
“I was in the back of my garden on Sunday morning and when I went towards the front, I noticed a man standing at my front door.” said the woman resident.
“He could only have come over the wall, as my gate was locked. I asked him what he was doing and he said that he was looking for someone’s house. Luckily at that point Balala saw him and charged.
The man bolted and literally cleared the fence like a high jumper, with Balala right behind him! Thank goodness for the dog as I don’t know what would have happened if Balala wasn’t there.”
The same resident’s car was broken into the previous week, also in Boskloof and her purse and laptop were stolen out of the car.
There are still reports of housebreakings in Jeffreys Bay as well as Aston Bay, however there does appear to be a drop in the number of incidents occurring.
