There has been a downward trend in criminal activities during May in Jeffreys Bay.
The continued efforts of the Police to shut down the taverns at the legal closing times have seen a major decrease in contact crimes like assaults in Ocean View and Pellsrus.
One arrest for drink driving was made over the weekend. A few housebreakings were reported but were spread over Jeffreys Bay with no discernable pattern.
The Police request business owners to remain vigilant, especially when paying wages on Friday’s as there could be an increase in attempts to rob payrolls.
STOLEN CELL PHONES:
Residents must take note that the Police cannot open up a docket for a stolen cell phone unless you have your IMEI number.
By dialing *#06# on your phone, you will be able to access this number. Write it down in a safe place as you will need this number when you report a theft of a phone to the Police.
