The third suspect in the Jayde Panayiotou murder case made his first appearance in the PE Magistrate’s court on Tuesday.
The alleged assassin, 30 year-old Sizwesakhe Vumazonke was arrested in New Brighton on Sunday.
The right side of his face was severely bruised when he appeared in court, prompting the presiding magistrate to ask what had happened to him.
He replied in Afrikaans that he was assaulted by police.
Vumazonke, who indicated that he had his own attorney, was remanded in custody.
He will return to court on the 19th of June, along with Jayde’s husband Christopher, who appeared in court on Monday in connection with her murder.
Christopher Panayiotou has not yet applied for bail and also remains in custody.
The first suspect to be arrested in the investigation, Thando Siyoli, appeared in court last Thursday.
He will be back in court again this Thursday the 7th of May.
