The temporary bridge crossing the Sand River near St Francis Bay was the scene of yet another accident when a driver lost control after failing to negotiate the turn when driving from St Francis Bay.
According to the South African Police, all three occupants in the car were injured and had to be hospitalised after the accident. None of them died, despite rumours that the driver passed away.
Motorists are urged to approach the Sand River bridge with caution, especially when driving from the St Francis Bay side as the curve of the road can catch drivers unaware, especially when travelling at high speed.
It is not known when a permanent bridge will once again be built over the Sand River.
