50 children discovered in Patensie taxi

Patensie police arrested a 31 year-old driver yesterday morning after the commander of the Patensie detective branch noticed the driver of a Toyota Quantum was driving very recklessly.


Lt Loaan Steenkamp, was on his way to work when he noticed a white Toyota Quantum that was driving at a high speed in Fred Ferreira Avenue, Patensie.

Steenkamp immediately requested the driver to pull over and 50 school children between the ages of six and 12 years old got out of the vehicle. (The vehicle is a 15-seater).

The driver was arrested on the spot on charges ranging from reckless and negligent driving as well as the overloading of a vehicle. The 31-year-old suspect is due to appear in the Hankey Magistrate’s Court today.
