Water supply under pressure in Jeffreys Bay

There is a problem with the water supply in Wavecrest due to the power failures and a burst pipe over the past two days.

“The reservoirs were at 49 % capacity yesterday and are struggling to keep up with the volume of water being used,” said the Democratic Alliance in Jeffreys Bay.

“This is due to the town being without power for 12 hours and no water being pumped into the reservoirs .

There was a pipe breakage yesterday as well and thousands of litres of water was wasted to flush the pipes to get the water clean .”

All residents and visitors are requested to use water sparingly and not water gardens during this time.
