Mayweather wins the most boring fight of the century

The fight that boxing fans had been waiting for between Floyd “Money Mayweather and Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao saw Mayweather maintain his unbeaten record with a points win over 12 rounds.

However, many fans felt disappointed after the fight as Mayweather seemed to be content with a defensive strategy after winning the early rounds.

Pacquiao threw plenty of punches as he contained Mayweather on the ropes, but most of the punches were not landing and Mayweather was content to throw some counter punches which seemed to be enough to convince the judges.

The fight felt more like a Las Vegas show on steroids, with Pacman taking a selfie on the way to the ring.

The fighters even hugged at the start of the 12th round, indicating the total lack of aggression during the fight.

Ringside punch stats showed Mayweather landing 148 punches of 435, while Pacquiao landed 81 of 429.

The volume for Pacquiao was a lot lower than the 700 or more he usually throws.

Mike Tyson was quite correct when he said that Mayweather could not compare himself to Muhammad Ali.

Ali, known as “The Greatest” had to overcome some scary fighters like Ken Norton, Joe Frazier and George Foreman to be able to claim the title of the Heavyweight Champion of the World.

Without taking anything any from the accomplishments of Mayweather and Pacquiao, it appeared as if they both pitched in Las Vegas to collect their paychecks, reported to be around $ 15 million a round for Mayweather.

Lets hope the rematch never happens.
