The following day a new event will be held – namely the Dash for Cash.
Swimmers will have to swim 100m with the top swimmers in each heat going through to the next round. Eventually only 3 swimmers will dash for the R 3000 prize money on offer for this event.
“The Dash for Cash will appeal to sprinters, who will have their endurance tested as they will have to swim heat after heat with very little rest inbetween,” said event organiser Brenton Williams.
Afterwards there will be an auction at the Infood Blu restaurant with some top quality wine going under the hammer.
The Dash for Cash and the auction are fundraisers for the Democratic Alliance in Kouga and holiday makers who own property in the Kouga will have an opportunity to meet the local councillors as well as the Member of Parliament for Kouga – Elza Van Lingen.
Entries for the Marina Mile can be done online at www.swimmingplus.com and close today, after which a late entry fee will be applicable when swimmers enter on the day.
