It felt like winter had returned to Jeffreys Bay over the weekend, with gale force winds, rain and a massive swell that hammered the south coast of the African continent.
The local surfers took full advantage of the big waves that peeled down the point at Supertubes with Saturday being a highlight in terms of size and the quality of the waves.
While the swell was a bit wild and all over the place at times, local surfers like Dan Thornton, Steven Saywer and Trevor Hansen all got some good rides over the weekend.
The swell is expected to drop with the wind backing off as well. Sunny conditions are due to return from tomorrow, so the Ugg boots can be packed away as the summer weather returns to Jeffreys Bay.
