The younger swimmers do less than 500m while the older, more experienced swimmers are doing about 2 km a session as they build their fitness.
All are welcome to join the JBay Swim Club at 5.45 pm every Tuesday and Thursday evening from the beach at the Infood Blu restaurant.
For those who want to train regularly, the Swim Club annual registration is R 350 and each member will receive a swim cap and tshirt, while Infood Blu will be sponsoring a drink for the swimmers to wash away the taste of salt water afterward,” said Brenton Williams, who is facilitating the swims.
The date for the highly popular Marina Mile has been set for 20 December, so there is plenty of time to get fit for the Mile, which is one of the highlights on the Jeffreys Bay December holiday programme.
