Locals will be able to join in the celebrations as Gabriel Jewellers will be giving away a Fossil ladies watch valued at R 2 000, together with some cool accessories.
Since 1984, when Fossil was founded by Tom Kartsotis from Texas, it has been rooted in authenticity with distinctive designs.
The idea for a new business venture came from his older brother, Kosta, who suggested that Tom should start importing products from the Far East, particularly, affordable timepieces.

Tom Kartsotis used some capital to hire a manufacturer from Hong Kong to make 1,500 watches which he subsequently sold in Dallas.
The owner of this new company then hired a friend and a designer called Lynne Stafford who is responsible for creating a distinctive retro watch design that brought to immense success of the American company, during the 1980’s and the 1990’s.
These new watches, with a dose of nostalgia, were based on the old timepieces from the 1930’s, the 1940’s and the 1950’s.
Kartsotis and Stafford went through the old issues of magazines and found the watches of an era that has passed a long ago. Such designs proved to be very appealing to the new generations which embraced these retro-styled products.
Today, Fossil offers men’s and women’s watches and accessories including jewellery, handbags, small leather goods, and even clothing to a global market.
