The United States and partner-nation military forces continued to attack Islamic State terrorists in Syria yesterday using a mix of fighter and remotely piloted aircraft to conduct eight air strikes, U.S. Central Command reported.
Separately, U.S. military forces used attack and remotely piloted aircraft to conduct three air strikes in Iraq, officials added.
In Syria, one air strike near Dayr ar Zawr destroyed an IS armed vehicle, and another destroyed an IS anti-aircraft artillery transport vehicle.
U.S. and partner nations conducted two air strikes on an IS compound and an IS held airfield near Aleppo in Northwest Syria .
Two air strikes were conducted on IS compounds near Raqqah, and two more struck an IS training camp and IS vehicles in a staging area next to a grain storage facility near Manbij that IS was using as a logistics hub and vehicle staging facility.
Assessments are under way on the outcome of these attacks, but initial indications are that they were successful, officials said.
The United Arab Emirates and Jordan also participated in these strikes and all aircraft departed the strike areas safely.
