Facebook continues to grow worldwide, with 829 million people logging on every single day – a 19 % increase year-over-year.
Users accessing Facebook on mobile devices grew by 39 % to 654 million.
Facebook also earned revenue of $ 2.91 billion for the second quarter of 2014,an increase of 61 % when compared to the R 1.81 billion in the second quarter of 2013.
Facebook announced that there are now 100 million users in Africa, which represents 50 % of all internet users on the continent.
80 % of these users utilise a mobile device to access Facebook.
“We had a good second quarter,” said Mark Zuckerberg, Facebook founder and CEO. “Our community has continued to grow, and we see a lot of opportunity ahead as we connect the rest of the world.”
