Suspect in JBay Murder case released on bail

Damian Peters, the suspect accused of murdering Robbie Paver in a knife attack last weekend has been released on R 500 bail.
The Jeffreys Bay Police opposed bail but the Humansdorp Magistrate’s Court decided to grant bail and remanded the case until 26 August.
Paver, and two other men were attacked and stabbed in an incident that has shocked the town of Jeffreys Bay.
Given the strong sentiments surrounding the attack, one wonders if granting bail was the correct decision to take.
There is a Community Police Forum meeting tonight at 6 pm at the Jeffreys Bay Police Station. This is an opportunity to become involved in the fight against crime in our once peaceful coastal town.
