
The JBay Open, stop No. 6 of 11 on the 2014 Samsung Galaxy ASP World Championship Tour, has been called ON for the day in powerful 6-8 foot waves that are expected to increase in size during the day.
Competition started at 8 a.m. with Round 5.
The four 35-minute heats will be followed by the Quarterfinals and then the first instalment of the Heritage Series, where legendary surfers and former ASP World Champions, Tom Curren (USA) and Mark Occhilupo (AUS), will renew their storied rivalry of the 1980’s and ‘90’s.
This will be followed by the Semifinals and Final.
The JBay Open forms part of the JBay Winterfest, a multi sport festival that has been taking place in Jeffreys Bay from 10 – 20 July.
The JBay Mountain Bike Open is also taking place today.
