JBay pool champ makes world finals

Pieter Rademeyer, a resident of Paradise Beach, has recently returned from Blackpool, England, where he captained the South African 8 Ball Pool Masters Team.

The team participated in the WEPF 8 Ball Pool World Championships and consisted of Pieter Rademeyer from Eastern Province, Graham Bake from Western Province and Robbie Grace from Gauteng North.

They went through to the finals, where they lost with a mere frame, to England.

Pieter has been selected every year, since 2003, for the EP 8 Ball Pool Masters Team as well as the EP 8 Ball Pool Opens Team. He has been the Captain of all these teams.

Pieter was first selected for the SA 8 Ball Pool Masters Team in 2005.

Edge Fitness

In 2009, he was the first South African Master to win the World over 50’s Championships. He was again selected this year, for the SA Masters Team for 2014. According to him, they will bring back the trophy next year.

Pieter’s advice to future champions is simple – ” Practise, practise, practise and remember you are not bigger than the game”
