More rain for the Eastern Cape over the weekend

There is a Weather Watch out for for heavy falls of rain over the Southern Parts of the Eastern Cape. This includes the coastal belt and adjacent interior between Plettenberg Bay and Peddie.

It will stretch into the interior and effect areas such as Joubertina, Patensie, Grahamstown and Fort Beaufort.

The rest of the region can expect a 60 – 80 % chance of showers and thudershowers.


Rain and showers can be expected over the Southern and Eastern Parts of the Eastern Cape right up to Port Edward, with good falls over the south coast region up to East London.

Clearance can be expected on Monday from the west.

As the ground is saturated any rainfall no matter how insignificant will result in runoff and effect already flooded low lying areas.

As significant falls are expected in places people in low lying areas should take extra care and take the necessary precautions, as well as to listen to the radio for all weather warnings issued by the SAWS.
