Ocean View residents demand services

The second community march within a week took place today in Jeffreys Bay when about 200 residents from Ocean View took to the streets and marched to the Municipal buildings in Jeffreys Bay.

The lack of toilets in the squatter camp, roads that are no go zones when it rains, power cuts and a ward Councillor who could not care less were some of the grievances raised by the residents.

This march follows hot on the heels of another protest that took place last week when residents from St Francis Bay and Jeffreys Bay demanded an acceptable level of service from the Kouga Municipality.

Another march has been planned for the 3 October by residents who want answers to their demands made to Mayor Booi Koerat.
