No underestimating the Valke

The EP Kings have a retained a strong team for their upcoming match against the Valke on Friday evening.

Luke Watson (captain) added “we are not taking any opposition lightly. Everyone has the ability and potential to beat anybody else in the competition, it all depends on who pitches up with the right attitude on the day”.

Many people will be forgiven for thinking that the EP Kings had a straight-forward match against SWD last week but Watson added further “we started the game very slowly last week and we need to ensure that we hit the straps running this week”. Something which one would think would not be pleasing to the ears of the Valke, especially considering that the EP Kings won last week’s encounter 29-7.

The EP Kings line out which has been a huge asset this season came under considerable pressure last week. Matt Sexton agreed that SWD did their home work last but as is the norm, the team have returned to the training ground intent on making all things right this coming week.

Alan Solomons (Director of coaching) echoed the sentiments of no underestimating the Valke. “They (Valke) are a side that’s willing to keep the ball in hand and run it from anywhere on the field”. It may be a temptation to throw the ball around when the game becomes loose, but the EP Kings are intent on sticking to their system and having a disciplined approach to the game.
