Telkom appoints head of business mobile

Pretoria – Deon Liebenberg has been appointed as head of Telkom Business Mobile, the telecommunications parastatal said on Monday.

In his new position, Liebenberg will be responsible for driving strategy and execution for all mobile activities in Telkom Business.

Telkom Business launched its mobile services in September 2011, marking another significant step on the company’s on-going journey toward delivering fixed mobile convergence.

He has headed the sales division at Vodacom and has fulfilled the role of country sales director at Motorola and Research in Motion, where he is widely credited with revitalizing Blackberry’s market position in South Africa. He was also the managing director at Samsung Electronics.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of the Free State, an Honours degree in Business Administration and an MBA from the University of Stellenbosch.
