Strong winds, big seas and lots of rain will keep people indoors this weekend, with the majority of school sports already being cancelled due to the inclement conditions.
The synoptic chart for South Africa shows a series of low pressure systems along the coast with a 960 low sitting to the south west of Jeffreys Bay.
Up until 8 am this morning the following rainfall was recorded. It is expected that Jeffreys Bay will receive most of its rain today.

The South African Weather Office has issued a warning that very rough seas and very cold gale force winds can be expected for the rest of today and tomorrow.
Farmers are also cautioned to take care as very cold conditions are expected in the high lying areas with snow already falling on the mountains.
Waves between 4 – 8 meters are also forecast along the coast.
Its time to pack put the Ugg boots and the beanies and snuggle up under the blankets. Winter has arrived in Jeffreys Bay!
