Motorists have started with the trip back home after the Easter Weekend. Weather conditions in the Eastern Cape are dangerous and motorists are urged to take caution as the rain continues to fall in Jeffreys Bay and other areas in the region.
Pine Pienaar, DA spokesperson for Roads and Public Works in the Eastern Cape, called on motorists to take extra care when driving in the Jeffreys Bay region and in the Eastern Cape today.
“Weather conditions are not good and we urge motorists to drive carefully. Motorists should drive with their headlights on, keep safe following distances and keep within the speed limits. Please be on the lookout for pedestrians and animals on the road”, said Pienaar.
The accident statistics are looking better than last year at this stage. The rain is expected to continue tomorrow and to start clearing on Wednesday.
