Man rescued at Impofu Dam

Last Sunday, NSRI Jeffreys Bay volunteers were called out following reports of a man being swept away by strong winds in a canoe on the Impofu Dam, between Humansdorp and Kareedouw. The SA Police Force also responded.

The NSRI Jeffreys Bay duty crew dispatched a vehicle towing a Rescue Waverunner to the scene where they launched it after the man’s parents pointed out the direction that their son was last seen being swept across the dam by strong winds.

The rescue team located the man, 27 year old Morne Bouillon, and took him to the bank where the Police were waiting.
