The South African Police have asked residents to be vigilant following an attempted hijacking in the early hours of Friday morning.
A motorist was accosted at the intersection of Poplar and da Gama road whilst on his way home. Luckily he managed to escape uninjured. A dark car, make unknown was spotted on the scene.
Warrant Officer Petra Els from the Jeffreys Bay Police says that motorists must be vigilant on the N2 highway as well.
“We have information that potential hijackers could try stop motorists on the highway by pretending that they need help. Do not stop and help but rather phone the Police and tell us about the incident”, said Els.
