The Kouga Municipality has closed the bridge constructed over the Sand River due to rising water after heavy rains yesterday.
The temporary bridge was built after the road collapsed to St Francis Bay in heavy flooding early in July.
There are big potholes all over Jeffreys Bay as well and motorists are urged to drive cautiously. Aapies Draai is underwater and it is recommended that the Marina Martinique road be utilised instead. Beware of big potholes in Dolphin Drive caused from the floods in early July.
Humansdorp received 106 mm of rain over the weekend and the flow into the Mpofu Dam is expected to increase the level of the dam, especially as the Churchill Dam is already overflowing.
