Chad Ho makes it 3 in a row at Redhouse River Mile

World 10 K Open Water swim champion, Chad Ho, claimed his hat trick of wins in the 87th SPAR Redhouse River Mile on Sunday at Cannonville on the Sundays River.

Ho won the event by over a minute to cement his status as Africa’s top open water swimmer over any distance. Aquabear’s Andrew Fisher got the better of a strong chasing pack, finishing second ahead of Christopher van de Sande who earlier won the wetsuit Mile event.
In the ladies race there was an upset with 50 m to go when race leader, Jessica Liss taking the wrong line and then misjudging her correction to give victory to Carmel Billson with Lauren Billson placing 2nd ahead of Liss.
J’Bay swimmer Caro De Jager had a strong race to finish 13th overall and 4th in her age group.
River Mile veteran, Mally Richards (also from Jeffreys Bay) was the oldest participant on the day, finishing his 58th River Mile, with Ant Skinner finishing his 51st Mile.
