Police in the Kouga cluster are searching for the family of a newborn baby boy after his body was found on a rubbish dump in Humansdorp.
A woman discovered the dumped body on Friday. It was wrapped in a plastic bag and blanket, and the boys umbilical chord was still attached.
“We believe that the baby may have come from the area of Jeffreys Bay” said the police’s Priscilla Naidoo. “At this stage we still have to determine the race of the child and a postmortem will be done.”
Meanwhile, police said this was the second case in the same dump site over the last two months.
