Warrant Officer Andre Jansen of the Jeffreys Bay Detective Services sadly passed away at the age of 50 at the St Georges Hospital in Port Elizabeth yesterday. W/O Jansen is presumed to have died of a stroke.
Jansen joined the Police as a special constable in 1992 and worked his way up the ranks and was promoted to Warrant Officer in 2009.
He leaves behind his wife, Joy Theresa Francis Jansen and 3 children aged 16, 12 and 10 years old.
The Jeffreys Bay Community Police Forum extended their condolences to the family during this time. Sue Smit, the secretary of the CPF said that the community appreciated everything W/O Jansen did for the people of Jeffreys Bay and he will be sadly missed.
The Police spokesperson Warrant Officer Petra Els said that Jansen was well loved by his colleagues and their loss will be felt at the Police Station.
