Notorious House Robber gets 12 years in Jail

The Jeffreys Bay detective branch has been hard at work putting criminals behind bars where they belong. Charlie Gcakazi a 22 year old was sentenced late last month to an effective 8 years imprisonment for attempted armed robbery after an investigation by W/O Denzel Human of the J’Bay Police.

Gcakazi held up Ahmed Ali, the owner of Jabulani shop in Ocean View in May with a very real looking toy gun. Ali put up a fight and Gcakazi and another suspect fled the scene. The sentence imposed on Gcakazi shows the courts are not playing games with criminals anymore and will hand out heavy sentences.

W/O Scott also from the J’Bay Police put a serial house robber behind bars for an effective 12 year sentence after fingerprints linked Seuntjie Pieterson to no less than three house robberies and the theft of a motor car over the past year.

W/O Scott, Captain Kok, head of the J'Bay detectives and W/O Human are determined to win the war against crime in Jeffreys Bay.

Pieterson, 19 years old, was active all over Jeffreys Bay and the surrounding farms and always broke a window to gain entry into houses. He stole electrical items, bicycles, cell phones as well as the car.
