Police conduct “clean up’ operation


During the past week all the Police Stations in the Humansdorp cluster have been busy with an operation to arrest ‘wanted persons’ in Jeffreys Bay and surrounding towns.

According to W/O Els from the Jeffreys Bay Police, the operation was a huge success with a total of 75 arrests being made.

One suspect who was wanted for murder was arrested while five rape suspects were also apprehended. The spate of house breakings that have been occurring in Wavecrest as well as cars that have been stolen will hopefully be stopped with the arrest of 16 people for housebreakings of houses and businesses as well as theft.

Another eight people were arrested for being in possession of stolen property while another six were arrested for stock theft.

The Police are busy with special operations in Wavecrest as housebreakings are occurring again on a regular basis. There incidences are happening all over the suburb with no discernable pattern.
