Brigadier John Jantjies has been put in charge of the Humansdorp Cluster of Police stations with effect from this month. Jeffreys Bay is one of the stations that falls under his command.
Brigadier Jantjies is originally from the Gamtoos Valley and went to school in Hankey. He plans to live temporarily in Humansdorp but hopes to buy a house in Jeffreys Bay. He has extensive experience and has worked at various Police Stations in his career including Gelvandale and Walmer, the latter of which he was the Station Commissioner.
Jantjies believes that the secret to a successful organization lies in having a good relationship with the Station Commanders, every Police Member and the Public. “There is the perception that a new broom sweeps clean. I aim to improve the relationship between the Police and the community and to ensure it keeps on improving”, said Jantjies.
Regarded as a “No Nonsense” man and a disciplinarian by his subordinates and colleague’s, Jantjies believes the Police Force can render a more professional and efficient service to the community with discipline and commitment. Corruption, ill discipline, negative attitudes or unprofessional conduct by members will not be tolerated and he urges the Public to report this to his offices at Tel 042-2004 729.
