An approaching swell and a favourable wind forecast has prompted the Xcel Pro event organisers to announce that the contest will run tomorrow Tuesday 11 May. Already there are great waves funnelling down at Supertubes, and tomorrow’s forecast looks bigger and cleaner.

“It’s going to be a real Supertubes day tomorrow,” said Xcel’s Koffie Jacobs. “There are going to be some serious waves in the morning, but it looks like it is going to turn into a classic Supers afternoon. The invited surfers will be getting some great barrels, and fitness is going to come into play as well.”

Stanley Badger will be hunting barrels like this tomorrow in his quest to win the 2010 Xcel Pro Showdown @ Supertubes, Jeffreys Bay

Last year’s winner Ryan Payne is excited about the call. “I’ve been watching the swell charts and have got butterflies going already,” said Payne. “It looks like it’s going to be an amazing day of surf tomorrow.”

Contestants are to meet at Supers at 08h30 tomorrow morning for a final call.
