A morning stroll on the golden beaches of Jeffreys Bay turned into a nightmare for a local woman when she was robbed while walking with her dogs earlier today.
The incident took place between Main Beach and the Walskipper restaurant near Aston Bay.
The woman, who was luckily uninjured during the robbery, was enjoying the beautiful morning when she was approached by a male, who made small talk and asked her what the time was, before demanding all her possessions.
Residents are urged not to walk alone along the beachfront, especially where there is dense vegetation. The section of beach near Pellsrus has been relatively quiet crime wise for quite some time and it is disconcerting that another incident has occurred just before the annual influx of holidaymakers to our town.
The Aston Bay Neighbourhood Watch is aware of the situation and will be monitoring the beachfront more closely over the next few weeks together with the Jeffreys Bay Police.
