One of South Africa’s biggest bands, The Parlotones, will be playing in Jeffreys Bay tomorrow night at the Jolly Dolphin, as the JBay Winterfest continues to rock the town.
“We are really excited to come back to JBay. We often used to play in Jeffreys Bay on our South African tours and it’s been too long since we were last there,” said Paul Hodgson from the Parlotones.
“The JBay Winterfest sounds really cool, there are great bands playing and we intend to have a great time. Jeffreys Bay is one of the most amazing places in South Africa, and we’ve really missed it. Hope to see you all there tomorrow night,” added Hodgson.
The Parlotones are Kahn Morbee, Neil Pauw and brothers Glen and Paul Hodgson. They formed over 10 years ago and achieved massive success in South Africa.
When The Parlotones originally formed they were described an Alternative band, and were heavily influenced by British bands like The Cure, The Smiths and newer bands like Radiohead and Coldplay. Later on they were called Indie, Rock and Pop.
The band has toured internationally since 2007, spending months on the road in the UK, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and North America. They have also toured in South America, Canada, Australia, Japan and Russia. They have toured with Coldplay, Starsailor, Snow Patrol and Blue October.
