A cut-off low system is expected to move through the Western Cape on Friday night bringing widespread showers to the Port Alfred and Cradock regions of the Eastern Cape.
These areas are forecast to receive at least 20mm of rain on Friday night.
By Saturday the system moves over Port Elizabeth bringing a possibility of heavy rain to the south coast areas. The eastern parts again receive high values of rainfall exceeding 20mm with higher chances anticipated along the Wild coast.
On Sunday morning the system moves out of the country along the East London coast bringing heavier showers to the south east coast between Cape St Francis and Port Alfred.
Local Municipalities along the south and south east coast of the Eastern Cape which will possibly be affected are: Kou-kamma, Baviaans, Kouga, Nelson Mandela Bay Metro, Sunday’s River Valley, Ndlamba and Makana.
The public are advised to listen to radio and TV forecasts for updates leading up to Friday and Saturday.
