Just in case you missed the action in Jeffreys Bay yesterday at the Billabong Pro, here is a video of Jordy Smith’s opening heat. There was some great barrel riding from Sean Holmes and Adam Melling as well in small and sectioning Supertubes.

However, Jordy decided to go the aerial route and pulled off a few serious moves that saw him post the highest scores of the day.

Swell Forecast for the next week by Surfline:

Small, but contestable, southwest swell will continue over the weekend, but will be a notch down from Friday. Much of next week looks quite slow. Long range charts and models continue show the possibility of another round of very contestable southwest to south-southwest swell around the last couple days of the contest waiting period.

SATURDAY 16th
SWELL/SURF: Decreasing SSW swell, strongest in the morning with 3-4’ faces (mostly chest-shoulder high sets).
WIND/WEATHER: Light northerly wind in the morning, with a light easterly sea breeze in the afternoon. Sunny skies.

SUNDAY 17th
SWELL/SURF: Modest, reinforcing SSW swell building through the afternoon. Starting pretty slow, but ticking up slightly for the second half of the day with more 3-4’ faces (waist-shoulder high).
WIND/WEATHER: Light NW wind in the morning, shifting to light/variable to light onshore in the afternoon. Sunny and warm weather continues.

MONDAY 18th
SWELL/SURF: Decreasing SSW swell, strongest in the morning with 2-3’ occ. 4’ faces and getting smaller through the day.
WIND/WEATHER: Light to moderate W to SW flow and clean conditions.

TUESDAY 19th
SWELL/SURF: Small SSW swell leftovers, mainly waist high or less.
WIND/WEATHER: Light easterly flow.

WEDNESDAY 20th
SWELL/SURF: Primary E windswell with very minor SSW swell and surf is waist high or less.
WIND/WEATHER: Light E/NE flow.
