Tickets on sale for Mandela Bay Sevens

Tickets have gone on sale for the annual Nelson Mandela Bay Sevens, taking place in Port Elizabeth on the weekend of 7 and 8 December.

EP rugby kickoff

The event brings together the world’s leading national Sevens rugby teams, and Port Elizabeth will be the third of eight stops on the 2013/14 HSBC Sevens World Series calendar, preceded by the Dubai Sevens on 29 and 30 November.

Last season, the Springbok Sevens team, despite a wretched list of injuries, finished second on the World Series log behind New Zealand after winning three tournament titles, a mark unmatched by any other side.

Victory at home

They will be out to emulate their effort in the 2008/09 season, when they won in Dubai and on home soil in George, before adding another victory in Adelaide, on their way to the overall World Series title.

The Nelson Mandela Bay Sevens tournament is the only occasion where South Africans are able to watch the Springbok Sevens in international action at home.

The Blitzbokke will be one of 16 teams battling it out for the coveted trophy and the important World Series points on offer.

Tickets for the popular tournament are available at all Computicket, Shoprite and Checkers outlets in South Africa, and online through Computicket.
