Swatch Women’s Pro Trestles 2014 set to make history

The Swatch Women’s Pro Trestles 2014 gets under way today as the top 17 female surfers on the planet are preparing to break new ground.

This is the first time that elite women’s surf competition is going to be staged upon the hallowed shores of Lower Trestles.

The historic event will also stage the much anticipated comeback of Swatch Proteam athlete Courtney Conlogue (USA) having recovered from an ankle injury sustained earlier in 2014.

Among a highly talented field, Courtney and fellow Swatch Proteam athlete Coco Ho (HAW) will both be looking forward to taking on the high-performance peaks of Lower Trestles with relish.

Having missed the last three ASP Women’s World Championship Tour (WCT) events with an ankle injury, Courtney has been focused on making a comeback at the break she loves.

While men’s elite competition has been held at the legendary Southern California spot for the last fifteen years, never before have the best women surfers had a top tier event staged at the legendary break.

Famed for offering perfectly tapering, smooth peaks that offer surfers the chance to go through their entire repertoires, down the years Trestles has ushered in some of the great performance leaps in surfing.
