Jeffreys Bay is rugby country with young and old alike being strong supporters of the game.
Youngsters get introduced to rugby at an early age in JBay, with Jeffreys Bay Primary School being one of schools that has a proud rugby tradition.
Aiden de Villiers is a stalwart of the U/9 team at JBay Primary this year.
As a lock, he is renowned for his jumping at the line out, as well as his bone crunching tackles that has earned him the nickname of “Yster” amongst his team mates.
Yster can also score tries and can be seen charging for the tryline in this photo, taken by Jeffreys Bay photographer Jaco Vlok.
“I love rugby and swimming and want to play for the Springboks one day,” said Aiden, who as a five year old a few years ago, braved the canals of Marina Martinique to win a bank to bank swim during the Metsi Open Water Swim Series.
