A 52 year old man drowned yesterday afternoon near the Albatross surf break in Jeffreys Bay.
Police spokesperson W/O Gerda Swart has confirmed that the man is James Jessup from Port Elizabeth
Mr Jessup was reported to be floating face down in the water which saw the NSRI launch their rescue runner.
When they arrived at Albatross, Jessup had been rescued from the surf by members of the public.
Despite efforts by the EMS paramedics, he was declared to be deceased and it is suspected that he died of a heart attack while swimming with friends.
