It’s been a long tough stretch since the last open water swim in the Eastern Cape and with a long winter still ahead, the Kouga Swim Club will be hosting a TRAINING SWIM at Marina Martinique on Saturday 12 June 2010.
The swim will start at 10 AM from the car park at Marina Martinique where the first events of the EP Open Water Swim Series were held last season.
The Kouga Swim Club notes that it is a training swim and no entry fee will be payable. The swim is entirely at your own risk and no water safety will be present.
Swimmers may wear wetsuits or speedo’s for the more hard core. The water is around 15 – 16 degrees at the moment and could drop if there is bad weather.
The following distances will be available:
• 500 m
The swim is starting at 10 AM so swimmers must be at the car park by 09H45.
The J’Bay Diving Club will be hosting a beginner course for kids at the same venue starting at 9 AM. Please bring wetsuits for the kids as the water will be cold for them.
