Nkandla sms goes to the high court

DA poster 2011The DA has welcomed the ANC’s intention to appeal the High Court’s decision to dismiss their application against the DA’s Nkandla SMS.

“We are looking forward to telling another court and the SA public why we were justified in saying that Zuma stole people’s money to build his R246 million Nkandla home,” said Mmusi Maimane.

The DA regards the High Court’s judgement as both a victory for freedom of speech and for the truth about Nkandla and has maintained that, based on the Nkandla report, a reasonable person would conclude that money was stolen to upgrade the President’s R246 million private homestead.

In the original application the ANC avoided tabling the Nkandla report in court because they can’t admit to what it actually says.

It remains to be seen how they will conduct an appeal without admitting to the Public Protector’s damning findings against President Zuma.
