The EP Kings have announced that Brent Janse van Rensburg has been appointed head coach for the Currie Cup campaign, which begins in August.
The former NMMU Madibaz coach joined the Kings for their Vodacom Cup campaign this year after a brief stint with the Lions.
Janse van Rensburg will take up his position with immediate effect. The Kings play their first match against the Lions on August 8, and he will also be in charge for the pre-season friendlies against the Sharks, the Bulls and Western Province.
“Brent is a top calibre coach, having earned his stripes in the school system and at the NMMU Madibaz, and we are confident that he will play a significant role in our preparations going forward,” said EP Kings chief executive Charl Crous.
“He is familiar with operations at the Kings and we are sure he will be able to bring the best out in the team for the Currie Cup campaign.”
Janse van Rensburg will be assisted by Carlos Spencer (backline and skills coach), Darron Nell (lineout and forwards coach) and CJ van der Linde, who is still playing but will assist in the scrummaging department.
