N2 collapses near Grahamstown – St Francis bridge closed

Anybody driving in the Eastern Cape is being urged to take extreme caution when driving and take note of the following alerts.

ST FRANCIS – SAND RIVER BRIDGE: The Sand River bridge is now closed. It simply too dangerous to allow people to continue crossing it.

HANKEY: The Weston Bridge is closed.

JEFFREYS BAY: The road to Aston Bay is hazardous near the traffic circle. Do not attempt to access ocean View by car.

N2 to PORT ELIZABETH: Drive with extreme caution – accidents have ben reported.

N2 to GRAHAMSTON: Avoid this road. The road has collapsed about 25 Km from Grahamstown.

HUMANSDORP TO KAREEDOUW: An embankment has come crashing down onto the R 102 about 8km from Humansdorp towards Kareedouw. The Provincial traffic department are on their way to see if vehicles can still pass. But best to avoid the road if possible.

OYSTER BAY: The road from St Francis to Oyster Bay is now also closed.
